About Us

Cedrick Antonio

My name is Cedrick Antonio. I am a junior in Healthcare Administration program here at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. I felt passionate about healthcare from the very beginning of my college career. I am driven by the desire to help improve the lives of others by making positive impacts on the aspects of healthcare that influence quality of care. I have taken many opportunities to grow on my journey to a career in healthcare, because I feel that experiences are what help develop skills. Through my intern experience, I was able to develop leadership skills, which allows me to be highly collaborative on teams and keep teams on track. The key leadership skills I brought to this team is transparent communication skills and time-management techniques to help make the team successful. I lead the communication to make sure everyone knew when the volunteer event was and what was expected of them. I helped our team coordinate work on a timely manner by asking what each team member wanted to take owner ship of and when they would be able to complete it and made sure everyone stayed accountable to each other. Each member brought their own skills that helped make for a successful team dynamic.

Luis Villanueva

My name is Luis Villanueva, volunteering at the Gathering was an exciting experience. The skills and abilities I brought to the team was my time management and my professional courteousness towards others. For time management I needed to make sure I made it on time to volunteer, so what I did was make sure I put my alarm very early to give me time to do my Morning routine. Another example for time management would be how I completed my task and work on time to get the extra credit opportunity. This adds a lot of value for my team. For my professional courteousness towards others ability, I used that while serving food to the people that came in to eat with a big smile on my face to make them feel welcomed. I learned that form working in a lot of customer service jobs. I believe that this is one of the most important ability to have in any type of organization because it shows trust and it shows compassion in the work field.

Alexandra Van Fleet

My name is Alexandra Van Fleet and I am a fourth year studying Healthcare Administration with a Business Minor. For our group project, I felt that I worked diligently to ask questions and carry out my position to the best of my ability. Using my leadership skills I stepped forward to deal with conflict. At The Gathering, when we ran out of spoons to wrap silverware I took the initiative to ask coordinators and then go search for more silverware. I made sure our group would be the first people to step forward when the coordinator, Natalie, asked who would be interested in completing a new task. Other traits I felt were prevalent for this project include responsibility, organization, and a positive attitude. I was responsible in making sure that I was fully prepared for our volunteer event by setting my alarm to wake up early, coordinate a ride to The Gathering, and making sure our group understood directions (once we realized that there were multiple locations). I was organized when tracking our progress with the project when figuring out what needed to be completed. My positive attitude was present when I handed out juice and welcomed guests.
